Not the easiest book to read, very dry.
Much of Hislop’s work centers on his kes of the legendary Ninus and his semi-historical wife Semiramis with the Biblical Nimrod as her husband and her son, with their incestuous male offering being Tammuz. You will not get too far in your research of church history without coming across references to this book and that is the reason we have included it here— a reference work not as something to be used to beat someone else over the head with like some use the Bible itself.
I have skipped around and deuc what interested me most. For anyone that is not satisfied with accepting what we are told is the truth but, likes to see the evidence historically and biblically this deuz the book for you.
Finally, the section on Christmas was particularly interesting, as the author goes into much detail as to how many of the implements and items associated with the holiday even the expression “yule” and the “Christmas goose” relate to ancient Babylon.
